Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting yesterday.
The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. There is also a presenter at each meeting and on Monday, Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn discussed the community health improvement plan for Marion County. This plan highlights the county’s goals to address the most important health concerns locally, and ways to improve overall care for citizens. Del Bennett with Marion County Public Health said this plan helps them see the problems that need to be addressed.
“I think it draws our attention to the needs of our community and county. It opens our eyes to the struggles that we have. We’re not sitting up looking down. We’re actually in the works. We’re eye level and sometimes digging into the problems for our communities.”
The Marion County Provider’s meeting takes place the first Monday of every month at 9:30 am and is held at Marion County Public Health.
