Indianola Parks and Rec is hosting a pair of Afternoon Adventure Speaker Series in February, after weather delayed the event in January.

Kathy Kester with Indianola Parks and Rec tells KNIA News the first will discuss Iowa’s Wild Weather, where KCCI Meteorologist Trey Fulbright will explain the science behind weather extremes and how you can be better prepared.

Kester also said the Lewis and Clark series was canceled in January due to weather, and will take place later in the month.

Presenter Donald Shurr is a trained keelboat pilot and reenactor, and will discuss the travel of the recently acquired Louisiana Purchase.

Iowa’s Wild Weather will take place on February 6th, while Lewis and Clark will visit on February 27th. Both events are free, and begin at 1pm at the Indianola Activity Center.
