A road rage incident in Indianola eventually spanned a chase that traveled into Marion county on Thursday.

According to a release from the Indianola Police Department, officers were dispatched to a road rage incident at the 1200 block of N Jefferson Way in Indianola. As officers arrived on scene, the suspect vehicle failed to stop which initiated a pursuit traveling north on N Jefferson, onto the Hwy 5 Bypass, through Carlisle, through Hartford, and into Marion County. Once in Marion County, the suspect vehicle fled onto gravel roads before officers were able to stop the vehicle using a P.I.T. maneuver.

Once the vehicle was stopped, the suspect fled on foot where he was eventually tased and taken into custody. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Sagar Bhandari from Des Moines, and is charged with Theft in the 2nd Degree – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Felony Eluding, Interference with Official Acts, and multiple driving violations.
