The Knoxville Federated Garden Club is fundraising for a new water feature at the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden.

This new water feature will be visible by patients who are receiving chemotherapy at the new Don and Margaret Long Infusion center at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics. This water feature will be part of a redesign of the Blue Star Memorial Marker in the garden and the goal is to enhance the experience for those receiving treatment at the new infusion center. The Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden at the hospital is managed by the Knoxville Federated Garden Club and member Nila Landsperger hopes the support of the community can make the new water feature a reality for patients in the new cancer wing.

“The new infusion center that was built at the hospital is such a great addition to our hospital and they look right out to the south of our butterfly garden and gazebo, and we thought my goodness wouldn’t it be lovely for them to have something even more beautiful to look at.”

If you would like to donate to the Knoxville Federated Garden Club you can do so by mailing your contribution to PO Box 645, Knoxville, IA 50138. Hear more about the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
