When winter weather wrecked a large chunk of the mid-season schedule for the Pella boys basketball team, they ultimately lost a matchup with traditional 2A power Des Moines Christian.

Pella searched for a replacement for game No. 21 to get a full season in; and while doing so, found the school that ended their 2023 campaign in the process.

The Dutch welcome #3 Waverly-Shell Rock for a late-season tune up and an opportunity to see what one of the best in Class 3A looks like one week before the playoff tournament journey begins, according to Head Coach Derek Schulte.

Pella (11-8) wrapped up the conference season Friday with a 6-6 league record and 4th place finish, while the Go Hawks are 16-3, losing to #5 Decorah last Friday by a 79-76 margin.

Coverage of tonight’s single varsity tilt begins at 6:30 this evening on 92.1 KRLS and Pella Dutch Live.
