The Indianola girls basketball team travels to North Polk tonight to take on the Comets in the regional semifinal. The Indians defeated Hoover in the quarterfinal round, and will now take on the #5 Comets in a rematch from December where Indianola lost 80-33.
The Indians shot only 27% from the field in that contest, and gave up 47 first half points and North Polk comes in on a 13-game winning streak winning by an average of 24 points during that span. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports the Indians are going to have to apply the lessons they have learned, especially defensively, since that time and work on not being one-dimensional if they want to challenge the Comets.
The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6:40pm, with tip-off at 7pm.
