While Daniel Gorskikh got most of the headlines last week at the State Wrestling Tournament for Knoxville finishing in 4th place in the 175 pound weight class, the Panthers also qualified 150 pounder Tristan Sinnard. Sinnard was one of the feel good stories of the season as he missed out on making state last season due to an illness just before districts. Coach Skylar Spaur tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this season Sinnard did not have a smooth season, but was good when it counted the most.

Spaur: “He was really bummed out last year, and you can ask anyone he was definitely ready to go. He’s went down a weight class so the weight cut wasn’t smooth but he was great when it mattered the most.”

Sinnard lost his first round match to Talan Webber of Charles City 11-3 and then fell to PCM’s Hewitt Brinegar in a second round consolation match 3-2. Sinnard finished his season with a 29-16 record.
