The South Central Conference Girls Tennis race should be competitive again this year. Clarke is the defending champion with several important players back from last season, also Davis County is someone that Knoxville Coach Nick DeMoss says to watch out for. He also expects this team to challenge for the title when the conference meets comes around
DeMoss: “There’s a lot of teams that’s going to be able to compete. I think you have to put Clarke at the top, they return their top 2 singles and their doubles team. I think Davis County has a team this year that can challenge, and I think we have a chance to be on top as well with what we have returning, so I like where we sit right now.”
Knoxville returns everyone from last year as DeMoss had no seniors on the squad in 2023. Janie Maasdam will return as his #1 singles player. He adds after that it could be a fight for 2-6 singles as more girls have shown up for the team this season and he says there will be challenges for varsity spots. Knoxville gets the season underway April 2nd against Southeast Polk.
