A second Drake Relays Blue Standard for the Pella boys track and field team highlighted a long Friday afternoon of competition at the Central College indoor meet. Hanson King ripped off four total throws exceeding the 55 foot, 6 inch benchmark to automatically qualify for the showcase of Iowa’s best track and field athletes in April. King’s best was a 57-03.5 toss to end the day, establishing a new indoor record for the hallmark part of the Dutch program. King looks forward to bettering these marks in the outdoor season and is excited to have officially earned a trip to the famous Blue Oval.
