A pair of zoning changes are on the agenda of the Pella City Council at their meeting Tuesday that would move a process forward that could ultimately lead to a new Kwik Trip Location. Two public hearings are scheduled for two zoning changes related to a parcel of agricultural and light industrial property, switching to community commercial. If approved after three readings, the ordinances would create a path for a new Kwik Trip store and gas station, located near the Highway 163 and Washington Street interchange east of the four lanes and south of the city street. No site plans were included in the zoning application; that step would continue later, and could include some discussion about what would be done relating to traffic in the area. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6:00 Tuesday evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
