The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday evening, which included a work session where they reviewed the initial proposal for the FY25 budget.

The council approved a three-year mowing contract with Woosley Landscaping for $356,658 over three years in a 5-1 vote, with councilman Steve Richardson voting against. Woosley Landscaping is an Indianola based company and the current provider of the service to the city, and was the recommended bid by the city parks department, however the low bid for the service was by Pro Care out of Altoona for $311,352, which councilman Richardson cited in his nay vote.

The council approved a pre-levy resolution allowing the city to issue $3.75 million in general obligation bonds for the purchase of city and public safety vehicles over the next five years. The council also approved the vacation of an alley to New Heights Church located east of the 100 block of South 1st Street and west of the 100 block of South Jefferson Way, before going into closed session to discuss litigation and the purchase or sale of real estate.
