The Indianola School Board met in regular session Monday, approving a bid for the High School Renovation and Addition Project for $67,000,500 from Edge Commercial in a 5-1 vote, with board member Sue Wilson voting no.

The board approved the publishing of the proposed 2024-25 budget, which will be considered at their April 8th meeting. The proposed property tax levy rate, which estimates a 3% State Supplemental Aid increase from the legislature which has not been set yet, stands at $17.94003 per $1,000 valuation, essentially the same as 2023-24.

The board approved the issuance of the 2024-25 Teacher Contracts and various handbooks, the 2024-25 District Education Calendars for both the year-round and traditional calendar, a contract amendment with Invision Architecture, and a bid from Waste Management as the district’s waste and recycling service provider through 2028.

The board also heard reports from the board Human Resources, Technology, Finance, and Policy committee meetings.
