The Indianola boys and girls track and field teams don’t have far to travel today for their first outdoor meet of the season, heading to Buxton Stadium on the Simpson College campus. The Indians girls have fared well to start the season, while the Indians boys have competed only in the IATC Indoor Championships. Head coach Matt Oliver said his young team had a chance to see some of the top talent at their only meet, and it helped benchmark where they need to improve in the early season.

“It was an opportunity for our young kids to go compete indoors, a lot of them had never competed indoors. We took some young guns up there, a lot of our older guys were on spring break already, so we liked how they competed. It was really a nice baseline for us to take a look at as far as the rest of the season. We liked how they competed, and we are excited for how the rest of the season will go for them.”

Action starts this afternoon at 4pm.
