The Knoxville City Council approved an application of Weiler to the Iowa Economic Development Authority High Quality Jobs Program at their meeting Monday night.

This program was established to promote economic development and job creation in the State of Iowa. This application is for another expansion project for the Knoxville based manufacturer  that will create 171 new full time jobs and will be an approximately $16.8 Million investment. This application requires a local match from the City and the council approved the match for $80,000. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says the community benefits by having a company like Weiler.

“It’s one thing to have a large industry in your community, but it’s another thing to have them investing in the community, being a part of it, tangled in all parts of the community, and giving back. That’s what Weiler does at a large level. Overall the community benefits greatly from having Weiler here.”

This project will allow Weiler to manufacture more parts in house.
