After getting the weekend to rest up, the Pella Christian girls tennis team and the boys soccer squad return to action on Monday.

The Eagle girls, who opened the season Thursday after their originally scheduled debut was postponed by nine days, will be competing for the third time in five days. Pella Christian will travel to Saydel Monday, looking to improve to 2-1 after sweeping Oskaloosa Thursday and being swept by Pella on Friday. On the other side of the all Eagles showdown, the Saydel Eagles are looking for their first win of the spring, after falling to Nevada and Iowa Falls-Alden. Monday’s match between Pella Christian and Saydel will be the fourth in the Bound era, with PC winning all three of the previous meetings.

The Pella Christian boys soccer team will also be in action for the third time in five days on Monday, this time traveling to Des Moines Christian. The Eagles currently possess a 3-1 overall record, after picking up a 4-0 win over Clarke on Thursday and a 6-4 win at Albia on Friday. The Lions have struggled through their opening three games, falling to Gilbert, Van Meter, and Dallas Center-Grimes while being outscored a combined 19-3. Monday’s meeting marks the 11th between the two schools since 2015, with history favoring Des Moines Christian. The Lions have won seven of the last ten games between the squads, but the Eagles claimed last year’s matchup 5-3.

The Pella Christian girls tennis match at Saydel Monday begins at 4:15 pm, while the Eagles boys soccer game at Des Moines Christian is scheduled to start at 5:30 pm.
