Higginbotham’s School Record Highlights 2nd Place Finish For Knoxville Boys Track At PCM

The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad, without seven of its runners placed second at the PCM Invitational on Thursday. The Panthers had five 1st place medals paced by Koby Higginbotham’s school record time of :14.6 in the 110 hurdles. Other 1st places went to Kaiden Smith in the high jump at six feet, Isaac Rankin swept the distance races, winning the 1600 and 3200 and Cael Irving took first in the 800.

Knoxville Tennis Squads Split With Albia

The tennis squads ended up splitting their meets as the girls beat Albia 8-1 The Panthers won 5/6 singles to wrap up the meet early. Janie Maasdam, Kate Schneider, Bridgette Liston, Iselynn Prevo, and Marlea Cox all took singles wins. Coach Nick DeMoss tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Liston comes from a family of tennis players that all had success for Knoxville, that added with her offseason work is starting to pay off.

DeMoss: “She does have siblings that can play and she will likely get out and play a little more this summer, and that’s what it takes, you have to play more in the summer and your game is going to elevate more quickly.”

The boys fell 7-2 to Albia as Henry Picard and Talon Brown won matches for the Panthers in singles. Both teams will get ready for the South Central Conference meets hosted by Knoxville Monday and Tuesday.

Knoxville Boys Golf 3rd At Moravia Invitational

It was a good day on the links at Moravia for the Knoxville Boys Golf Squad as the Panthers finished in 3rd place behind Washington and Oskaloosa. Evan Smith was individual medalist carding a -5 67. Other scores were Carson Uitermarkt with a +2 72, Brady Roozeboom fired an 81, Noah Keefer had an 82, and Urban Ziller shot an 85.
