A Pella man was arrested Thursday on felony burglary and theft charges from an incident that occurred in February.

According to court documents, a burglary occurred at an apartment under construction on Broadway Street on February 22nd and 23rd. Among the items stolen from the building were about over 50 tools valued at about $2500. Security cameras captured the suspect leaving the property with the stolen items. After reviewing the security footage, 43-year-old Matthew Reisinger was identified. Several days after the burglary occurred, law enforcement went to Reisinger’s parent’s residence and located some of the stolen items. They voluntarily turned the items over to law enforcement, and the victim confirmed the items belonged to him.

Reisinger is charged with third degree burglary and second degree theft, both of which are Class D felonies. Reisinger is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, May 2nd at 9 am.
