Knoxville Boys Golf 3rd At Gilbert Meet

It was an usually busy day for some of the Knoxville Sports Squads on Saturday. Boys golf went to Gilbert and the Panthers placed 3rd with a round of 299, which was four off of runner-up North Polk and six off of 1st place Gilbert. Evan Smith repeated as overall medalist with a -1 70. Other scores \Carson Uitermarkt with a 77, Noah Keefer shot a 76, Brady Roozeboom carded a 78, Urban Ziller came in with an 80, Mike DeVos shot an 86, Grant Gerdes had a 77 and Luke Roozeboom shot 76. Knoxville will be back on the links in Oskaloosa for the South Central Conference meet, which the Panthers are a heavy favorite to win the title.

Knoxville Girls Soccer Defeats West Central Valley In Overtime Thriller

The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad took down West Central Valley on Saturday 2-1 in overtime. Payton Horn got both goals including the game winner in the extra session. Coach Bethany Johnson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she has been happy with how the girls have improved throughout the season and credits her senior leaders for that.

Johnson: “Our connecting passes to feet, our through balls have been good. I don’t really have to coach them on a lot of things because Charlye talks and whips them into shape with is really good.”

Knoxville is now 6-4 and will travel to Clarke on Monday. That will be a part of a double header with the boys squad.
