The Knoxville Police Department will hold their annual Freedom 5K on July 4th.
The event is a way to celebrate Independence Day with the Knoxville Police Department and others in the community. Registration is $20 for those 18 and older and $15 for those under 18. You can pre-register at the Knoxville Police Department or by following this link. Day of race registration will be available until 7:45 am. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller encourages the community to come out, whether you’re running or not.
“Since we’ve been doing it for so long it just runs smoothly now. There is a pancake breakfast that THRIVE puts on across the street at the fire department so even if you’re not participating in the 5K you can go over and get breakfast and watch your family or friends finish once they are done.”
Event proceeds fund a scholarship for a Knoxville High School student interested in law enforcement.
