One year ago, a Pella High School graduate with dreams of serving his country had that chance cut tragically short. PFT JT Atchison died from a medical emergency on July 12th, 2023. Since then, the community has honored his legacy, including recent projects at the Pella Library and Pella Community Art Center. Youth Services Librarian Katie Dreyer says she remembers JT as one of the first children to participate in her reading programs upon her arrival in town.
