Renovations to a landmark in Pella are set to begin next week. The Tulip Toren renovation project includes repairs to a beam in the basement, removal and replacement of concrete slabs at the base of each tower, removal and replacement of joint sealant, cleaning and sealing each tower, rust removal and painting of the bridge between the towers, removal of plantings around the base of the tower, replacing plantings with concrete to aid in water run off away from the base of the towers, repainting doors, and painting stage surface areas. The timeline for the project is for completion near Thanksgiving and it will cost the city $291,900 through contractor Pullman.
