The Norwalk basketball teams will look to get back on the winning side of things tonight in a girl-boy varsity doubleheader at Newton.

The Class 4A seventh-ranked Norwalk girls are playing for the first time since suffering their first loss of the season last Tuesday vs. Dallas Center-Grimes. The Warriors are 10-1 overall and 3-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play. The host Cardinals are 8-3 overall and 2-3 in the LHC. Norwalk has won the last 16 matchups with Newton according to gobound.com.

The Norwalk boys are hoping to snap a four-game losing skid that began on December 20 at Indianola. The Warriors are 4-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play. They have won five straight against Newton, which enters the contest at 5-4 overall and 2-3 in the Little Hawkeye.

Both games can be heard live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3), starting with pregame coverage at 5:45. The girls game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off, followed by the boys game at 7:30.

The Norwalk girls wrestlers are also competing today at a quad meet in Pella. They will face English Valleys, Newton and Pella starting at 5:30.
