After playing three games in a five day span with only the weekend in between, the Pella Christian boys basketball team is excited to return to practice and work on further improving their game.

The Eagles last took the court in a practice setting a week ago, and have since fallen to Pella, Class 3A #5 Knoxville, and Dallas Center-Grimes. Pella Christian was averaging 57.6 points per game entering those three contests, but recorded just 47 points per game in those losses. Additionally, the Eagles were allowing just 56.1 points a contest in their first eight games, but saw that number make a slight jump to 63 points in their last three games. Following Tuesday’s loss at Dallas Center-Grimes, Pella Christian head coach Marv Van Wyk said he was excited to get two days of practice to work on things before their next game.

“There’s lots of things that we’re going to continue to keep working on as far as being more effective on the offensive end and taking care of the ball a little better against tough defense. And, the only way to do that is continue to push each other in practice, and these guys do a super job of that. So, we’re going to keep working on that. We’re going to keep focusing a lot on us and what we do.”

The Eagles return to the court tomorrow night, competing in the third road game of the week at Indianola. Coverage of Friday’s doubleheader for the Pella Christian basketball teams can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 5:45 pm.
