An ongoing effort to spread kindness in the area continues into February. Milly Moments returned this year to honor the young girl who died in a sledding accident just weeks after her fifth birthday in 2023.

The event has included “Milly Birthday Boxes,” distributed to area food shelves that included materials to celebrate birthdays, several community groups and residents wearing pink to kick off the event one week ago, and several other acts of kindness throughout the region.

A Food Drive is ongoing in both the Pella and Knoxville Community School Districts throughout the event, as students can bring food items to their respective school to support the Pella Community Food Shelf.
