Pella Corporation celebrated 100 years as a company this week, and while it was a time to look back at many accomplishments, the leadership of the organization is also looking ahead to what’s next.

Through its shareholder family and GenLink, the company has diverted some profits toward a wide range of investments in the Tulip City in the past decade. That has included financial backing toward the South Main and Prairie Ridge Housing Developments, and commercial projects Liberty Street Kitchen, Main Street Markt, and West Side Social — which is reopening in the former Smash Park facility later this year.

Vice President of Corporate Communications Karmen Gardner believes that financial investment shows Pella Corporation’s commitment to bolstering the quality of life in its hometown.

To commemorate this milestone, Pella Corporation will host a series of events throughout the year, including celebrations across their facilities, employee appreciation events and increasing charitable support.

The company will celebrate with the community of Pella during the 90th Annual Tulip Time Festival this spring. The company will host a grand opening of its newly redesigned Pella Museum. At the event, community members can ride on a new city trolley, a commemorative gift from the Pella Rolscreen Foundation to Pella Historical Museums.
