The #9 in Class 3A Pella boys basketball team received what they hope is an early preview of Wells Fargo Arena on Monday night, as the Dutch defeated North Polk 63-48, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

A slow start kept the Comets in the festivities early with a tied score at seven ending the first quarter. Pella started to find traction and led the remainder of the contest from early in the 2nd quarter. The Dutch built their led briefly to 19 points before the reserves earned the chance to play at the annual venue of the state tournament.

The Dutch were led by a 16-point performance by Austin Schulte and 12 points from Colin Kerndt.

Pella has won ten of eleven games and moves to 14-5 overall, and the Dutch join the girls for the final home doubleheader of the 2024-25 winter season tonight against Indianola. Pregame coverage starts at 5:45 this evening of senior night at Pella High School on 92.1 KRLS and Pella Dutch Live.
