The task will be tough for the young Pella boys wrestling team as they travel to Carlisle for state qualifying on Saturday, a challenge Head Coach Jay Pike says they are ready for. The Dutch will face individual wrestlers from the 3A dual champions and powerhouse Southeast Polk, 8th ranked Carlisle, and several ranked individuals across the weight classes.

Pike believes their tough schedule and growth over the season has a team largely made up of underclassmen prepared for the occasion. Logan Bruxvoort is the lone returning state qualifier for Pella, having won his third Little Hawkeye Conference title at the league meet nearly two weeks ago. Logan is seeking a third consecutive trip to Wells Fargo Arena.

Wrestling will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Carlisle High School. Tickets are only available online for the event.
