With the Iowa Legislature currently working on setting the amount for Supplemental State Aid (SSA) to the schools of Iowa, the Indianola School District feels good about their budget situation heading into FY26. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News the current proposal is a 2% increase from the legislature, and Indianola schools are in a good place heading into the new budget year.

“We look at the amount coming in, which is why right now SSA is really important for us and for legislators to set that for us so that we know what we can plan for next year. At this point we are looking healthy. I’m not going to say we have a ton of money in our coffers, but we have the finances to remain stable. We are in a very stable position, which is a very great place for us to be.”
