
The Norwalk girls bowlers finished the season by placing fifth out of eight teams in Monday’s Class 2A State Qualifying Meet at Keokuk. The Warriors posted a total score of 1,966 pins following 15 Baker games. Their scores ranged from 94 to 171. Advancing to the State Team Tournament were first-place Keokuk with a score of 2,888 and Oskaloosa with a 2,599.
Norwalk also fell short of any individual state qualifiers, which required a top-eight finish. Julia Palen led the Warriors with a three-game series of 524, Anna Curran bowled a 457 and Elivia Stout added a 416. Curran posted the team’s high individual game with a 193. Norwalk will graduate five seniors from a team that finished the season with a 9-2 dual record.
The Norwalk boys bowling team is at Cardinal Lanes in Newton today for their Class 2A State Qualifying Meet at 10:00 a.m.
BASKETBALL:
The Norwalk boys basketball team wraps up regular-season play tonight with a home game against Class 3A seventh-ranked ADM. The Warriors enter the contest with a 10-10 overall record while the Tigers are 16-4. The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com (KNIA3). Pregame coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. with the opening tip set for 7:15.
