The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad will start its regional journey tonight with a road game against Oskaloosa. The two teams played just a week and a half ago with the Indians winning by 21 points. In that game Oskaloosa’s Dasia Foster had 27 points and 16 rebounds. While the Panthers shot the ball well at 52%, they were dominated on the boards 35-20 and 17-6 on the offensive end. Panthers Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team has a plan to slow down Foster and the rest of Oskaloosa’s attack.
Ritchhart: “They way she does her damage, she gets the rebound and she may miss but she gets another rebound and another and so on so she gets 4-5 chances for a basket. We’re putting some things that hopefully will stop that.”
Ritchhart says if his team can slow down Foster or get her in foul trouble, and his team shoots like they did last Monday, they stand a chance to win the game. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 and you can hear the game live on your radio home for Knoxville Sports, 95.3 KNIA.
