An 18-1 1st quarter run by Oskaloosa put the Knoxville Girls basketball Squad and the Panthers season ended in a 55-38 loss to the Indians heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers could not make a shot in the 1st half scoring only two baskets and trailing 28-9 at halftime. Knoxville’s game plan was to get Oskaloosa’s Dasia Foster in foul trouble, but the Indians made shots and Knoxville did not. Coach Matt Ritchhart told KNIA/KRLS Sports while not happy with the loss, he was pleased with how his girls responded in the 2nd half.
Ritchhart : “Three quarters you played with them, and I know they put their subs in with about 2:00 to go and so did I and we got Foster in foul trouble, but that was the goal. We just have to keep growing and getting better.”
Hannah Dunkin ending a brilliant career with the Panthers scored 12 points to lead Knoxville who finished the season 5-17.
