The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will play in a class 3A substate final for the first time since 2005. The Panthers have won both of their games over Mount Pleasant and Fort Madison by 22 and 39 points respectively. Panthers Coach Joel Keady tells KNIA/KRLS Sports when it gets down to this point of the postseason, everyone you play is good and will give you a challenge.
Keady: “The farther you go you’re going to get challengers and I fell there are 10-15 teams in 3A that could get hot and win a state championship, and then when you get to the state tournament there’s a another whole layer of luck and things have to go your way, but I’m happy to be this far and looking forward to Monday,”
The Panthers will take on Keokuk on Monday, a team that will come in 17-7 on the and season and will be the 3rd team the Panthers will face in the postseason from the Southeast Conference.
