Voters in three Jasper County townships are included in tomorrow’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy Election for the Grinnell-Newburg School District. According to the Jasper County Auditors Office, approximately 900 registered voters in Hickory Grove, Lynn Grove, and Richland townships are eligible to vote. The Grinnell-Newburg School Board is asking for a ten-year extension of the 67-cent Physical Plant and Equipment Levy, which generates revenue for a variety of school expenses. If approved, the extension would begin with the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
Voting hours on Tuesday will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and all Jasper County residents in the Grinnell-Newburg School District will vote at the fire station in Kellogg. Voters can also cast absentee ballots up until 4:30 p.m. today at the Jasper County Auditors on the second floor of the Courthouse in downtown Newton.
