The City of Knoxville has hired the Brick Gentry Law Firm as their new City Attorney at Monday night’s council meeting.

This comes after the recent resignation of former long serving City Attorney Bob Stuyvesant who resigned at the February 17th council meeting after the city decided to move forward with different legal representation. Matt Brick from the firm has already been working with the city since October with some nuisance properties and City Manager Heather Ussery is happy they already had experience working alongside them before they came on as the regular city attorney. Matt Brick was in attendance for Monday’s meeting and Ussery says that since they are a big firm they may have a variety of different legal representatives work with them from the firm.

“They are a larger firm so they cover several cities around Iowa and so they also have a larger team. We will always have representation. It may not be Matt Brick but it will always be somebody from the Brick Gentry Law Firm.”

Brick Gentry Law Firm is based out of West Des Moines.
