Interim Indianola City Manager Wade Wagoner has announced his resignation.

Wagoner was hired as the Indianola Deputy City Manager-Chief of Development and Operations for the city in December under then City Manager Ben Reeves, and was quickly elevated to the role of Interim City Manager a week later after the departure of Reeves. Wagoner said in his letter to Mayor Steve Richardson and the Indianola City Council

“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. In this case, the many are the wonderful staff that I have grown to care deeply about in a short period of time. The few are my family.”

Wagoner will return to his previous role as city administrator for the City of Colfax, with his last day set for April 7th.

The city is currently undergoing a search for a new City Manager, and information about the transition process and vacant deputy city manager position following Wagoner’s resignation will be released at a future date.
