The Pella City Council will review the 2026 fiscal year budget at work sessions next week. An initial presentation was given this past Tuesday, which in total revenue is expected to grow to just under $80 million, and expenses are projected at $75.1 million. The initial budget developed by City Administrator Mike Nardini maintains the property tax rate at $10.75 per $1,000, and includes increases to water and wastewater rates and various service fees. All of those need formal approval from the Pella City Council. Department leaders will have presentations during the work sessions coming Tuesday, March 11th and Wednesday, March 12th, with final recommendations to be given by Nardini following those sessions. The meetings are open to the public in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
