
The South Central Conference has released its all-conference basketball selections for this season and several Knoxville players from both boys and girls have earned spots. For the boys on the 1st team and #3 in 3A Panthers landed three selections led by Landen Norris.
Norris is currently averaging 20.8 points per game and has 188 rebounds, both tops on the team in those categories. The second 1st team selection is young brother Lincoln Norris.
Norris is 2nd on the team in scoring at 17.2 points per game and currently leads the Panthers with 64 steals. The third and final 1st team selection is Kaiden Smith.
The 6/7 post player has led the Panthers in scoring all season long at 70% from the field and 57% from three point range, he also is tops on the team with 34 blocks this season. On the 2nd team is Drake Larson. Larson leads the team with 125 assists and is currently 7th in class 3A heading into this week’s State Tournament. Three Panthers earned honorable mention as TaShawn Conner, Koby Higginbotham and Tristan Stevenson all earned honorable mention for the unbeaten Panthers who will take on Cedar Rapids Xavier Tuesday at the State Tournament. For the girls Hannah Dunkin was a 1st team selection.
Dunkin was Knoxville’s do everything player leading the team in scoring at 15.2 points per game, made 71% of her free throws, and had a team leading 153 rebounds. She also surpassed the 1,000 career point mark this season and set the single game scoring record on January 17th against Cardinal with 40 points in a Knoxville win. Earning honorable mention was Dunkin’s younger sister Addy, who averaged 6.6 points per game, and led the team with 56 assists. Addi Williams also earned honorable mention as the Panthers’ 3rd leading scorer, and older sister Ayla also earned an honorable mention nod with 122 rebounds, which was 2nd on the team. Knoxville finished with a 5-17 record this season.
