The Indianola City Council met in a special joint session with the IMU Board of Trustees Monday evening, discussing the city insurance plans for city and IMU employees. Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson tells KNIA News the council found savings without changing the insurance plans and coverage for city employees, while keeping the fees level as part of the city insurance pool.
Richardson also said proper planning for the city over the last several years has allowed them to now be in a position to save money despite insurance costs rising everywhere.
