Two Newton High School DECA students will be in Orlando, Florida in late April, attending DECA’s International Career Development Conference. Newton High School Business teacher Kelli Keefer says seniors Tamika Rodenboom and Alexis Dirksen qualified to compete in the conference by placing second at the Iowa DECA competition.

“They wrote up a start up plan and presented it to judges and qualified to go to the ICDC in Orlando at the end of April. I think Alexis has gone the last two years, so this will be her third year in a row of qualifying.”

In Orlando, Rodenboom and Dirksen will be competing against teams from across the world. The DECA International Career Development Conference begins Saturday, April 26th.
