One of two 19-year-old Monroe men accused of damaging a restroom at Monroe Recreation Park this past November has been sentenced to three years of probation. Darick Scott Clark pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Arson, a Class C felony. Monroe police say Clark and Clayton Duane Waldrop started a fire in the men’s restroom with an explosive device. The November 1st fire caused $2,900 damage. Both Monroe men were arrested November 12th.

Clark’s sentence from District Court Judge Terry Rickers Monday includes a waived $1,370 civil penalty and an order to pay a currently undetermined amount of restitution. Waldrop, who is also charged with 2nd Degree Arson, is free on a $3,000 bond. He has a pretrial conference scheduled for March 24th.
