The Indianola School District and Indianola Police Department held a graduation ceremony for Indianola students for the DARE Program earlier this week, honoring students for their commitment to the program which aims to prevent drug use, gang membership, and violent behavior, primarily through police officers visiting elementary school classrooms to educate children about the dangers of drugs and how to resist peer pressure.
The Indianola Police Department restarted the DARE Program in partnership this school year, in addition to partnering with the district to add a second School Resource Officer. Find a highlight video of the event below.
