Southeast Warren agriculture teacher Alex Rodgers has been named as a finalist for the Golden Owl Award by the Iowa FFA Foundation as announced earlier this week.

The Golden Owl Award honors outstanding agricultural educators across Iowa, and recognizes educators who go above and beyond in preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders through innovative teaching, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences.

Rodgers is one of seven finalists from across the state, with each of the seven finalists receiving a $500 cash prize and an engraved plaque in recognition of their exceptional contributions. They now advance to the final round of selection, where one honoree will be named Iowa’s Agricultural Educator of the Year, receiving the Golden Owl Award trophy and a $3,000 grand prize. The grand prize winner will be announced at the Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference on April 14, 2025, in Ames.
