Warning from 3/14/2025

The first round of severe thunderstorms for 2025 caused significant power outages across the region. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and again from 7 to 7:20 p.m. for multiple warnings impacting Marion, Warren, and Jasper Counties, which included Weatherology meteorologist updates.

Wind gusts throughout the region were reported as high as 73 MPH. At one point, well over 3,000 Marion County Households were without power, as were 600 in southern Jasper County. A semi was overturned near Hartford on Highway 5 and another farm trailer was overturned on Interstate 80 near Newton.
