While local track and field squads have been busy at practice for the last week or two, the rest of the springsports can be unleashed from the slumber this week as golf, tennis, and soccer can begin practice on Monday. Knoxville squads are looking for great seasons this sprint with boys golf coming off a run of state meet bids, boys soccer got all the way to the substate final, while girls soccer put together a 9-5 season. Both tennis squads saw progress as well in Knoxville. Track and Field will get the first meets underway on March 25th with the Simpson College Invitational for girls while the boys will wait until April 1st at Pella Christian. Golf will start up on April 1st with an early season triangular at Pine Knolls Country Club in Knoxville. Boys soccer gets the season started March 31st against Southeast Polk while the girls start off the next evening against Indianola, both matches will be at Randy Wilson Track in Knoxville. Tennis will be the final sport to get going as the boys will host North Polk on April 3rd and the girls will travel to Southeast Polk on April 7th.
