A Newton High School wrestler has been recognized for his accomplishments on the mat and in the classroom. Junior Lane Rozendaal has received All-State Academic Honorable Mention. Rozendaal earned the recognition by having a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.75, and qualifying for the state wrestling tournament. 

Rozendaal wrestled at 157 pounds and had a record of 35-13 this year. At the state tournament, he won his first match with a 4-0 decision, and lost his second match by pin to the eventual state champion.
