Newton boys track coach Chad Garvis says just a few members of the team will be competing in Pella today at the Central College High School Indoor Meet. Schools from all classes and from across the state are scheduled to compete.
Members of the Cardinal boys track team have competed at two indoor meets so far this year. Both were last week at the A.D. Dickenson Relays in the UNI Dome at Cedar Falls and the IATC Indoor Championships in Ames. In the UNI Dome, Newton picked up two top ten finishes. Nick Milburn placed eighth in the shot put, while Nick Thomason, Reilly Trease, Caden Klein, and Christen Ergenbright took tenth in the 4×200 meter relay. The Cardinals picked up two more top ten finishes in Ames. Reilly Trease placed 3rd in the 60 meter hurdles, and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Trease, Austin Arauz, Cade Bauer, and Drew Bauer finished 3rd as well.
Today’s meet at Central College begins at 10 a.m.
