While they have had great weather for practices early in the season, the Pella Christian track and field teams are staying prepared for any conditions that get thrown their way this spring.
Eagles head coach Keith Anderson says that they are grateful to have had ideal weather early in the season that has allowed them to hold several practices outside. Anderson adds that they aren’t taking those opportunities for granted, knowing that conditions can vary day to day, and that he and the coaching staff are preparing their athletes for whatever weather they encounter at a meet.
“Attitude and mindset are probably the biggest factors there, and knowing that it could be 70 degrees today but tomorrow might be half that and it could be windy. So, having the right clothing, being prepared, just knowing everybody’s running in the same conditions, and just having that positive mindset is probably the key factor.”
The Eagles track and field teams open their seasons on April 1st, with the boys hosting their Early Bird meet and the girls running at the Davis County meet.
