IMPACT Community Action Partnership provided 7,242 services to low-income households in Jasper County during fiscal year 2024 according to the Des Moines based non-profit’s CEO. Anne Bacon presented IMPACT’s 2024 report for Jasper County to the Jasper County Board of Supervisors this week, and said they intend to do more in the county.  She said that additional help will be determined by a community needs assessment.

“We do a community needs assessment every three years. That’s when we look at every area we serve to make sure if there are any gaps, that we shift our services.”

According to Bacon, the services IMPACT provided in Jasper county this past fiscal year helped 901 children 17 and younger, 1,093 families, and 2,484 residents. But she also noted the organization failed to reach at least 6,671 Jasper County residents that could have benefited from their services last year. The IMPACT CEO says to reach more residents this year, the organization will continue home visits and pop-up events with partner organizations, and continue seeking additional funding sources to support local programs. Bacon also asked the County Supervisors to inform them of community needs they hear about from residents, and help them build connections with community groups, organizations, and businesses. Newly elected Jasper County Supervisor Thad Nearmyer has been chosen to represent Jasper County on the IMPACT Board of Directors.
