Over the weekend, the Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad sent several girls to the Central College High School Indoor meet on Friday and posted some good performances. The Saints throwing may be a strength as Gabby Overgaard placed 8th in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet 4.5 inches. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports while Overgaard has high goals this season her back injury she has been dealing with for most of the school year, that also kept her out of a large portion of the basketball season will be monitored and so far things are going well.

Stuart: “Just trying to watch her reps, and getting good strong reps and avoiding things that hurt her, and she’s been really good about communicating when she’s getting tired or when she needs to stop for a while so it’s been good.”

Two other girls are also set for time in shot put, sophomore Kesley Reed who placed 29th and sophomore Brylee Gibson will also get time in the shot put events.
