
After slugging over .500 with five home runs and 17 runs driven in, Megan Heidelbauer was named the American Rivers Conference Position Player of the Week on Monday.
The sophomore first basemen proved to be a force at the plate, going 18-for-35 with a team-leading five home runs and 17 RBIs. Heidelbauer finished with three doubles, and three triples, along with 11 runs scored, three walks, and a perfect fielding percentage on 77 putouts.
Heidelbauer helped lead Simpson to a near perfect 13-1 record in Florida over the last week at The Spring Games. Simpson begins the year at 15-1, the best 16-game start since 2015 for the Storm.
Simpson returns to action on Wednesday, March 26 with A-R-C action at Dubuque with first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 2 p.m.
